Newborn at Home with the Famiily by Nina Drapacz Photography

I had seen a few images of this beautiful baby before I got to her home. She was even more spectacular in person! Her mom had a list of what she would like to be included in session, from hairbands and clothing to pillows, signs, setting and most importantly her big brother, Rascal, the dog! We accomplished all in over 2 hours, whew! While Rascal was a huge part of the shoot, I’m including the feet image where his paws are among the family feet.

Two Loving Big Brothers Bonding with a Baby Sister after Birth. Nina Drapacz Photography

More from "Under 48 Hours" The family had another photographer the day before but the baby was too fussy..It was check out day so I had to work quickly..  I came straight to the room which was too dark and small and took the family out to the hall where there was space and beautiful window light.

Two big brothers were goofing around so I had to wrangle them in while the baby was being "topped off" with an additional feeding. I worked with them and they loved the attention, so when the baby was ready, so were they. The boys rose to the occasion and couldn't be more amazing!

Newborn Baby at Weill Cornell by Nina Drapacz Photography

Mom was recuperating and was eager for a photo session right in the hospital, she was prepared with plenty of hats from grandma! The baby was a beautiful girl! We tried my props first then moved to her own. She slept through the whole shoot! Grandma was a huge help! I would definitely hire her as my assistant. We both took turns swaddling her granddaughter.

Newborn Photography by Nina Drapacz Photography

She was just days old, we all expected this beautiful little baby to sleep the entire shoot.....there was no way! She was alert and thoroughly enjoyed being photographed! Her older fur sister had a good time licking peanut butter off her head as we pretended it was intentional loving licks.

House Call and More Newborn Images....Nina Drapacz Photography

I found a few more favorites from this newborn session as I was meeting with the mom to go through the images together. House calls are an integral part of the process. When I post galleries of over 300 images to choose from its much easier to narrow down the best when I swing by with my laptop loaded with Adobe Photoshop. This program allows us to place similar images side by side to compare details as well as toggle back and forth in Camera Raw with a magnification tool to see minute details.family family2 7W4A0324 newborn3 siblingsO

Newborn Photography at Home and Cozy. Nina Drapacz Photography

The look of joy on a mom's face as she looks at her new baby and look of curiously on a toddler's face when he observes his new baby sister . We were able to capture lots of winning images, although we couldn't replicate the one of her brother on a black reflective table sleeping. She was awake the entire session as well as an additional session!! newborn newborn newbornbaby siblings siblings2
