Winter Photography in NYC by Nina Drapacz Photography
It was freezing and raining and all I had was a camera and reflector as this photo session was scheduled for outdoors in Carl Schurz Park. The light was falling but somehow I was able to capture this beautiful family on their dining room table, the window behind me in natural window light mixed with indoor ambient light.
Newborn Photography by Nina Drapacz Photography
The family was moving out of their home in days and I expected chaos in the apartment, but instead I was greeted by a calm and beautiful mom and newborn...siblings arrived after camp. We took advantage of the big white bed and the wonderful window light. Just minutes to work with the baby before he woke up. He was so alert throughout the entire photo shoot at only a mere week old!

Indoor Photo Shoot one year later, Upper West Side, NYC by Nina Drapacz Photography
A year ago this beautiful boy was born, he was just two days old when his parents asked me to come to photograph him with his family. He was adorable as a newborn and is a very active cute little baby/ toddler! Loves sports and goofing around with his two older brothers. Lucky for auto focus, he's fast! His mom called me to photograph him as a surprise gift for his dad's birthday. I hear Dad was thrilled!
Photographing a girl named Nina in her home, West Village, NYC by Nina Drapacz Photography
I went to my favorite area in New York City to photography a family. The West Village is such a lively mix of people, food, boutiques and art schools. This family had a lovely apartment with lots of natural window light which is my favorite. To top it off the baby's name was Nina! Photographing in homes is a unique experience.
As a photographer I relish the different surroundings. Children are so at ease at home so this makes it most fun for them, plenty of treats in the kitchen, lots of toys, what can be better?
A Bris at The Harmonie Club by Nina Drapacz Photography
I have photographed a wonderful Bris last week at the famous Harmonie Club! I was thrilled to be told by the Cantor that there were no pictures allowed while the diaper was off. This procedure seems harder for parents than the babies. I remember photographing my son's Bris over 26 years ago. I remember being thankful to have the camera between myself and what was happening. Here the Mom is comforting her baby before the procedure. It was quick and the baby stopped crying as soon as his diaper was back on and he was happily sucking on some sweet Manischewitz wine. Everyone sang in celebration when it was done. It was a lovely event!
