Beautiful Moms with their New Baby. Nina Drapacz Photography

These gorgeous moms were ready to go when I arrived. The baby had just finished her bottle and wide awake but very calm and curious. She was an ideal newborn, both when she was awake and when she was sleeping.. I was able to do a large variety of photos of her and her parents. Not a peep in two hours and she was adorable! Each mom had something from their childhood, they hoped to include in the session. A baby blanket from one parent and stuffed animals from the other,. As if it could get better, she smiled in her chair at the finale!

She wasn’t actually a newborn, but one month old. Mom said she sleeps during the day and is up at night so we planned on getting the newborn look. That day she did not sleep much but the session was wonderful! It was actaully great timing with her older 2 year old sister as she was not as overwhelmed with the new baby as she was when the baby first came home. I love these sweet captures!

Newborn Brother to These Two Boys. Nina Drapacz Photography

This family has had newborn sessions at Mount Sinai Hospital for their first two sons but Covid made this impossible with the third. It’s a family who had always lived in New York City until Covid made it impossible to function with their growing family. Both parents have high power jobs and were forced to work remotely with two young boys at home. Childcare was closed so their only work option was to take turns working and caring for the kids. This schedule began to take its toll and they decided they needed to move out. Comfortable in Dobbs Ferry now, the new addition arrived. Everyone is satisfied with their decision.

This outdoor socially distant session with the masked photographer was relaxed and fun. Fighting over who was going to hold the baby was the big deal.

More Fresh 48! By Nina Drapacz Photography

When I knock on the doors on the post delivery floor of the hosptials, it always a different experience. Some parents are exhuberant, others exhausted and overwhelmed. These families were excited and one family was prepared, the others happily surpirsed at what this Gaga photographer, me, had to offer! I’ve been called the baby whisperer by many new families!

Photographing in three different hosptials, Cornell, Mt. Sinai East and Mt. Sinai West, I try to capture brand new babies as artisictally as I can which can take anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour depending on the baby. I feel these images are a good summary of my work in just a month, toggling between hosptials and rooms. These sessions afford me the opportunity to meet so many different families and to turn my creative energy to wonderful portraits documenting a very emotional time for everyone. The dad with the twins chose a pink shirt to take his twins babygirls home this day!

The birth stories I hear as well as the coaching I give the new parents on how to soothe their babies and even swaddle them correctly gives me the pleasure of sharing what I know from being a mom as well as reminding me of my own experiences as a new mom hours after my baby was born. With each session, I gain new perspectives and learn more about newborns and their parents and how unique each family is.

Newborn Baby AND The Only Boy of 5 ! Under 48 Hours by Nina Drapacz Photography.

A "huge" treat to find this chubby little baby born at 10.5 pounds and 36 hours old! He was an adorable sleepy bundle of baby and the only boy in a family with four girls all under the age of 6! The fifth child and according to mom, maybe not the last as he will need a brother....Oh those cheeks!

All my props worked with this big guy. He was so sturdy and content. This session was on the hospital bed using 6:30 pm soft window light.

She was just days old, we all expected this beautiful little baby to sleep the entire shoot.....there was no way! She was alert and thoroughly enjoyed being photographed! Her older fur sister had a good time licking peanut butter off her head as we pretended it was intentional loving licks.

The look of joy on a mom's face as she looks at her new baby and look of curiously on a toddler's face when he observes his new baby sister . We were able to capture lots of winning images, although we couldn't replicate the one of her brother on a black reflective table sleeping. She was awake the entire session as well as an additional session!! newborn newborn newbornbaby siblings siblings2

Siblings and a Outdoor Space in a NYC Apartment Building by Nina Drapacz Photography

lowen lowne4 lowen3The LAST warm day this winter! I was able to squeeze this shoot in in December. It was over 60 degrees! It started out rough, light was fading and big brother wasn't thrilled sharing the spotlight with his baby brother. With lots of patience and persistence, a success!

Twin Photography in the Studio by Nina Drapacz Photography

This family won my services from a school donation. The mom is well known in the media world and needed head shots for these beautiful babies. I was thrilled to meet them at the door! Gorgeous little 3 month twins! I love the black velvet for photographing babies, its so dramatic and the subjects really pop! hilltwinshill3hill

The family was moving out of their home in days and I expected chaos in the apartment, but instead I was greeted by a calm and beautiful mom and newborn...siblings arrived after camp. We took advantage of the big white bed and the wonderful window light. Just minutes to work with the baby before he woke up. He was so alert throughout the entire photo shoot at only a mere week old!7W4A0014 7W4A0102 mof mol3
